When looking for vape tanks, you’ll want to hone in on a few key features. You can divide all vape tanks into two critical categories: mouth-to-lungs tanks and direct-to-lungs tanks. When choosing your tank, you’ll want to see whether it’s designed as an MTL or DL device. Usually tanks are designed to function as either one or the other. A tank should have adjustable airflow control so you can adapt it to your tastes, but even the best airflow control isn’t sufficient.
The best vape tanks are usually ones that hold more e-liquid also. Today, you can find tanks that hold up to 7 or 8ml of e-liquid. On a standard vape pen, you’d never need a tank that large, but since sub-ohm tanks guzzle juice more quickly, the larger tanks do, to a certain degree, compensate for the difference. You will be refilling less often though with a bigger tank. If you’re busy running around during the day and don’t want to lug around bottles of e-juice with you, then a large tank is a must. Now, it does mean that you won’t be able to change flavours as frequently, but if that proves problematic, then you don’t have to fill up the tank completely.
Lastly, you’ll want to check which coils are offered. You may have an enormous tank with great airflow, but if it’s coils are poorly built, then you’re not going to get all that far. Since not every tank is compatible with every coil, you have to be careful when choosing your tank because the coils largely determine the vaping experience. For example, if you want to use a special coil with ceramic wicking or the NotchCoil from Eleaf, then you’ll want to see which tanks can accept those coils. If you like building your own coils or think you might want to further down the road, you’ll want to see if an RBA is included. Even if it’s not branded specifically as an RTA, plenty of tanks include optional RBA’s in tanks that can function as hybrids. That being said, if you’re going to be building your own coils and changing up the atomizers, you’ll also want to make sure that your mod is TC compatible should you choose to vape on nickel or titanium.
